CSW 111— Finishing

In this class students will learn to: prepare wood for finishing by stripping, sanding and repairing, to color wood using stains, dyes and milk paints, and to protect wood using various finishing products. No prerequisite.

Hourly Shop Fee  Price: $10.00/hr

Membership Fee $20.00/mo or $200/yr

Allows graduates of the three part introductory series to continue growing their skills by pursuing projects of their own choice/design and also participate in advanced projects.

Scroll Saw

In this introductory class, students will learn about all the parts, features and functions of the scroll saw and how to safely use a scroll saw to make intricate curves and openings in wood. No prerequisite

CSW 122 Plywood Cabinetry

The second of a two-course series that reinforces earlier instruction, introduces the student to the European 32mm system of cabinet making, and the use of cabinet and sliding table saws in the construction process.   Practical application includes building a lower cabinet unit equipped with drawers that matches with the previous course’s upper cabinet.  

CSW 121 Plywood Cabinetry

This is the first of a two courses covering the design and construction of cabinetry, shelving and storage units.  Practical application includes building an upper cabinet unit with adjustable shelves and doors

Woodturning - Beg. Int. and Adv. Classes

Guest instructors Clint Stevens and Carole Floate are experienced woodturners and instructors who emphasize a hassle free, safe and encouraging learning atmosphere in their classes.  These carefully designed classes are perfect for inexperienced turners. You will learn about the lathe, its accessories and the tools used to shape wood. Students will watch demonstrations, then apply what they have learned to independent work overseen and guided by the instructor.

9-week classes and weekend seminars are available.
